Common Murre (Uria aalge) 1 observed from ship during sea-bird census at Irbe strait, Black Guillemot (Cepphus grylle) 10 observed from ship during sea-bird census at Irbe strait, Baltic sea (A.Avotins at. al).

Reed warbler (Acrocephalus scirpaceus) 1 singing M at Daugavgriva, Riga. Earliest spring record ever (U.Piterans).

Ruppell`s Vulture (Gyps rueppellii) 1 local at Ventava area since 24.04.2011. (escape), Ventspils county (A.Veitas). New E cat. species for Latvia. Ural Owl (Strix uralensis) 1 calling male at Kolka cape, Dundaga county (G.Grandans et. al). Ring Ouzel (Turdus torquatus) 1 at Kolka village, Dundaga county (G.Grandans, E.Ledins).

Horned Grebe(Podiceps auritus) 2 in the Baltic sea at Pape, Short-toed Snake Eagle (Circaetus gallicus)1 to S at Pape. Both obs. at Rucava county by E.Ledins. The same which was observed at Liepaja (photos compared). Carrion Crow(Corvus corone) 1 at Kolka Village, Dundaga county (I.Brediks et. al).

Snow Goose (Chen caerulescens)2 ad (white morph) at Uzava river floodplain, Ventspils county (A.Klepers, N.Walker, J.E.Mundt, G.Gailis). Firecrest(Regulus ignicapillus) 1 F trapped and ringed at Kolka, Dundaga county (G.Aizupiete, G.Grandans).

Red-crested Pochard (Netta rufina) 2 (M&F) at Liepaja lake, Nica county (K.Millers, M.Strazds), 1 M at Beibezi water reservoir, Vecumnieki county (M.Kilups, E.Laucis). Ring Ouzel (Turdus torquatus) 1 M at Liepaja lake E coast, Baidzele area, Nica county (M.Strazds, K.Millers).

Pink-footed Goose(Anser brachyrhynchus) 1 ad at Kulciems fields, Talsu county (K.Millers, B.Galvina et al.). Another individual as observed here at 30.03. at the same place (based on photos). Common Scotter (Melanitta nigra) 1 at Satini fish ponds, Saldus county (M.Jaunzemis, V.Jaunzemis). Rare in inland regions. Carrion Crow (Corvus corone corone) 1 still present at seashore near Mersrags (K.Millers, B.Galvina et al.). First observed at 2005! Ring Ouzel (Turdus torquatus) 1 at Kolkasrags, Dundaga county (D.B.Wooldridge).

Crested Caracara(Caracara plancus) 1 flew over Kolka village, Dundaga county (R.Rekmanis, G.Grandans). New E cat. species for Latvia. The same bird as previous this winter in Scandinavia, more info here.
