31.12.2014. Canada Goose (Branta canadensis) 1, Meadow Pipit (Anthus pratensis) 1 at Golodova dam in Liepaja lake, Liepaja (G.Zembergs). Both species rare during winter months.

30.12.2014. Great Egret (Ardea alba) 2 together with Grey Heron (Ardea cinerea) at Mersrags channel, Mersrags (U.Revalds). Rare during winter months.
29.12.2014. Eurasian Wigeon (Anas penelope) 1 M at Zvejniekciems seashore, Saulkrasti county (V.Vigants). Rare during winter months.

28.12.2014. Eurasian Wigeon (Anas penelope) 1 M in Liepaja lake at Zirgu islet, European Golden Plover (Pluvialis apricaria) 1 flushed at Golodova dam in Liepaja lake, Liepaja (K.Millers, I.Grinerte). Mediterranean Gull (Ichthyaetus melanocephalus) 1 1cy in Daugava river at Kengarags, Riga (U.Piterans). 18^th record for Latvia. Lesser Black-backed Gull (Larus fuscus) 1 ad on the ice at Liepaja lake, Liepaja (K.Millers, I.Grinerte). Rare during winter months. Woodlark (Lullula arborea) 2 shortly at Ezerkrasts meadow near bird tower, later to S, Liepaja (K.Millers, I.Grinerte). Probably extremely late autumn migrants. White Wagtail (Motacilla alba) 1 locally at Ezerkrasts meadow near bird tower, Liepaja (I.Grinerte, K.Millers). The same bird as 21.12.2014. - 26.12.2014. at Zirgu islet and Golodova dam (A.Mankus, J.Jansons). Water Pipit (Anthus spinoletta) 1 at Ezerkrasts meadow near bird tower, Liepaja (K.Millers, I.Grinerte). 8^th record for Latvia. Steller's Eider (Polysticta stelleri) 1 1cy to S together with Mallard (Anas platyrhynchos) at Akmensrags, Pavilosta county (I.Grinerte, K.Millers). Water Rail (Rallus aquaticus) 1 at Lejasstradi, Gulbene county (L.Priedaja-Klepere). 2^nd winter record for E Latvia. Lesser Black-backed Gull (Larus fuscus fuscus) 1 ad to N at Akmensrags, Pavilosta county (K.Millers, I.Grinerte). Rare during winter months. Common Murre (Uria aalge) 1 at Akmensrags, Pavilosta county (K.Millers). Wood Pigeon (Columba palumbus) 1 at Cukura str., Liepaja (K.Millers, I.Grinerte). Rare during winter months.

Present since 23.12.2014. (U.Piterans). Rare inland during winter months. White Stork (Ciconia ciconia) 1 at Augsligatne, Ligatne county (Normunds). Northern Harrier (Circus cyaneus) 1 ad M at Rude surroundings, Nica county (K.Millers). Water Rail (Rallus aquaticus) 1 at Darzini distributary, Salaspils county, >2 at Sausa Daugava, Kekava county, 2 at Dole isle fish ponds, Salaspils county (U.Piterans). Common Moorhen (Gallinula chloropus) 1 at Darzini distributary, Salaspils county (U.Piterans). Hedge Accentor (Dunnock) (Prunella modularis) 2 at Zirgu islet in Liepaja lake, Liepaja (J.Jansons). All species rare during winter months.
25.12.2014. Redwing (Turdus iliacus) 1 at Kaniera str., Riga (U.Piterans). Reed Bunting (Emberiza schoeniclus) 2 at Daugava river, Daugavpils (A.Erts). Both species rare during winter months.
23.12.2014. Eurasian Wigeon (Anas penelope) >11 in Liepaja lake at Vitini meadows, Grobina county (R.Rekmanis, I.Ozola). Northern Pintail (Anas acuta) 1 1cy M at Daugava river near Kengarags bird tower, Riga (U.Piterans). Common Pochard (Aythya ferina) >23 in Liepaja lake at Vitini meadows, Grobina county (R.Rekmanis, I.Ozola). All species rare during winter months. Black-throated Loon (Gavia arctica) 1 Sausa Daugava, Kekava county (U.Piterans). Rare inland during winter months. Little Grebe (Tachybaptus ruficollis) 4 at Darzini distributary, Salaspils county (U.Piterans). Single individual present since 21.12.2014. (I.Grinerte, K.Millers). Eurasian Bittern (Botaurus stellaris) 1, Water Rail (Rallus aquaticus) 1, Common Moorhen (Gallinula chloropus) 1 at Darzini distributary, Salaspils county (U.Piterans). All species rare during winter months. Common Snipe (Gallinago gallinago) 1 at Darzini distributary, Salaspils county, 1 at Sausa Daugava, Kekava county (U.Piterans). Rare during winter months. Black-legged Kittiwake (Rissa tridactyla) 1 ad to S at Ziemupe on 11:00 and later in the afternoon at Liepaja harbor N pier, Liepaja (R.Rekmanis, I.Ozola). Pomarine Skua (Stercorarius pomarinus) 1 1cy to S at Ziemupe, Pavilosta county (R.Rekmanis, I.Ozola). Mistle Thrush (Turdus viscivorus) 2 to S at Saraiki, Pavilosta county (R.Rekmanis, I.Ozola).

Greylag Goose (Anser anser) 2 together with 5 Whooper Swans (Cygnus cygnus), Canada Goose (Branta canadensis) 12 together with ~50 Whooper Swans (Cygnys cygnus) at Nica fields, Nica county (K.Millers). Gadwall (Anas strepera) 14, Eurasian Teal (Anas crecca) 1 in Liepaja lake at Ezerkrasts bird tower, Liepaja (R.Rekmanis, I.Ozola). All species rare during witer months.

Little Grebe (Tachybaptus ruficollis) 1 Darzini distributary, Salaspils county (I.Grinerte, K.Millers). Lesser Black-backed Gull (Larus fuscus) 2 1cy at Pentuli rubish dump, Ventspils county (A.Klepers, M.Tirums). Stock Dove (Columba oenas) 1 flew over the road at Varve surroundings, 12 in one flock to NE at Pentuli surroundings, Ventspils county (A.Klepers, M.Tirums). Skylark (Alauda arvensis) 1 at Uzava river floodplain fields, Ventspils county (A.Klepers, M.Tirums). Chiffchaff (Phylloscopus collybita) 1 in coastal dunes bushes at Liepaja S pier surroundings, Liepaja (A.Mankus, J.Jansons). White Wagtail (Motacilla alba) 2 at Kolka Cape, Dundaga county (M.Ievins), 1 at Zirgu islet near Golodova dam, Liepaja (A.Mankus, J.Jansons). Single bird at Kolka Cape present since 14.12.2014. (M.Ievins). Meadow Pipit (Anthus pratensis) 1 at L.B.T. grain terminal surroundings, Liepaja (A.Mankus J.Jansons), 1 at Uzava river floodplain fields, Ventspils county (A.Klepers, M.Tirums). Reed Bunting (Emberiza schoeniclus) 1 at Zirgu islet, Liepaja (J.Jansons, A.Mankus). All species rare during winter months. Twite (Carduelis flavirostris) >20 on Golodova dam at Liepaja lake, Liepaja (A.Mankus, J.Jansons).
14.12.2014. Little Grebe (Tachybaptus ruficollis) 1 at Musa river, Bauska (E.Laucis). Northern Harrier (Circus cyaneus) 1 1cy/F at Bernati, Nica county (R.Rekmanis). Dunlin (Calidris alpina) 1 ad at Lielupe river estuary, Jurmala (M.Kilups). Probably the same as on Mangalsala pier, 20.11.2014. - 11.12.2014. (I.Kiecis, I.Denisovs). Lesser Black-backed Gull (Larus fuscus) 1 1cy to S at Pape, Rucava county (R.Rekmanis). All species rare during winter months. Skua (Stercorarius sp.) 2 (1 + 1) to S at Akmensrags, Pavilosta county (I.Brediks et al.). Birds to species were not identified, according to Fennoscandia Birds data basis could be Pomarine Skuas (Stercorarius pomarinus). Black Guillemot (Cepphus grylle) 2 to S at Akmensrags, Pavilosta county (I.Brediks et al.). Northern Hawk-Owl (Surnia ulula) 1 at Rude surroundings, Nica county (E.Ledins, A.Kalvans). Black Redstart (Phoenicurus ochruros) 1 1cy/F at Pape, Rucava county (R.Rekmanis). Rare during winter months. White Wagtail (Motacilla alba) 1 at Kolka Cape, Dundaga county (M.Ievins). Rare during winter months.

10.12.2014. Stock Dove (Columba oenas) 41 on the treated corn field at Klaskinu bog, Iecava county (E.Laucis).
07.12.2014. Redwing (Turdus iliacus) 1 at Starpinupite river-head at Kanieris lake, Engure county (M.Riherts). Skylark (Alauda arvensis) 1 on Golodova dam in Liepaja lake, Liepaja (J.Jansons). (Siberian?) Chiffchaff (Phylloscopus collybita (tristis?)) 1 in coastal dunes bushes at Liepaja S pier surroundings, Liepaja (J.Jansons). All the species rare during the winter months.
06.12.2014. Great Egret(Ardea alba) 1 in the ditch at Marupe (N.Jansons). Eurasian Wigeon (Anas penelope) 1 M at Mangalsala pier, Riga (I.Denisovs). Both species rare during the winter months.
05.12.2014. Eurasian Teal (Anas crecca) 1, Common Pochard (Aythya ferina) 2 (M and F) at Daugava river, Daugavpils (A.Erts). Teal present since 02.12.2014., Pochard since 01.12.2014. when 1 (A.Erts). Both species rare during the winter months.
04.11.2014. Common Crane (Grus grus) 3 on the field in Gavieze surroundings, Grobina county (R.Kidiks). Present since 30.11.2014., when 4 (R.Kidiks). Rare during the winter months.
03.12.2014. Eurasian Teal (Anas crecca) 1 F at Kisezers lake, Common Moorhen (Gallinula chloropus) 2 (ad un 1cy) at Sarkandaugava distributary, Riga (I.Denisovs). Both species rare during the winter months, more likely potential locally wintering birds.
02.12.2014. Dunlin (Calidris alpina) 1 ad on Mangalsala pier, Riga (I.Denisovs). Present since 20.11.2014. (I.Kiecis). Rare during the winter months.
